Naga Panchami is a traditional of India. It is a Hindu religious festival where Hindu family worship of Snakes, It’s celebrates many places in India. Some Indian States such as Gujrat, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and many more celebrate Naga Panchami on the dark half (Krishna Paksha) of the (July/August) months according to the Hindu calendar.

Important Activities and Rules of this Festival:-

• The Hindu religious family fed the milk and honey to snakes.
• We worshipped in the temple, decorating the temples and offering some sweets.
• Some common People in Maharashtra present themselves from door to door with a cobra asking for alms.
• Naga Panchami famously celebrated also in the Southern of India.

History of the Naga Panchami Attraction-

The legend behand of Naga Panchami is that Lord Krishna had defeated the evil snake Kaliya who had attacked a child Krishna. Lord Krishna was merely fetching his ball from the river waters. On that time Kaliya Snake attacked to the Lord Krishna. After some time Kaliya understood that the child was not ordinary and had begged for mercy and forgiveness. Lord Krishna had forgive the Kalya and saved the villagers from the harassments and torments of the evil snake, Kaliya.

How to Celebrated Nag Panchami:-

Nag Panchami celebrated across the India. There are many activities happen in temple. The Village people of India performs some special activities, singing a song and dancing in group, clapping and enjoying with friends. Some devotees visit temples dedicated to Lord Shiva as well. Because of this the god's special association with snakes. According to hindu traditions, Lord Shiva swallowed a snake’s poison to save the world and he wears a serpent around his neck.

Some places in India live snakes are worshiped representatives as a god. Married women of Hindu dress in new clothes, commonly take fast, chant a special mantra, and offer milk to the snake for the safety for their family and prosperity.

• Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh:- In the Varanasi Naga Panchami celebrates such as a traditional dangal wrestling matches held at various akhadas in the city. Where the wrestlers worship snakes for virility, and the akhadas are decorated with images of snakes.
• Manasa Devi temple in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, which is dedicated to the snake goddess Manasa.
• In the Mahakaleshwar temple Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh during this festival Nagchandreshwar shrine opened only once a year for 24 hours Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, where its Nagchandreshwar shrine is only opened once a year for 24 hours during the festival for some special puja (worship ritual) is performed.
• In the Karnataka's Subramanya village, where Kartikeya (son of Lord Shiva and Parvati) is worshiped as Subramanya, the lord of all serpents. This temple is located in the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada, and Nag Panchami is celebrated there with an elaborate ritual folk dance known as Naga Mandala.
• In northern Karnataka there is a Kandkoor village, holds a rather disturbing scorpion fair on Nag Panchami festival. Where People worship the scorpions and crawl over their bodies. They believe that goddess of scorpion's Konddammai will protect them.
